As millions of people across the UK prepare to look skywards on Wednesday [12 August] for the most dramatic solar eclipse visible from Britain in nearly three decades, Eden Project Morecambe has released a new CGI image revealing more about one of the most spectacular elements of the landmark new destination opening on Morecambe’s seafront in 2028.

The Environment Agency (EA) recently declared flash drought condition across the Central, Eastern and South West expanding the scale of water scarcity to seven England regions and all of Wales. More than half of the UK is impacted, with hose pipe bans in place for more than 20 million people.

The Eden Project is calling on people to keep turning the tide on division in communities as it celebrates the success of its recent Big Lunch and Big Help Out campaign. The national drive to encourage action in communities through social connections and acts of volunteering saw 15.04 million people take part this June - demonstrating a powerful appetite for combatting societal polarisation at a local level.

Last night, Thursday 2 July, a cross-party group of MPs from across the UK spent the night beneath the canopy of the charity Eden Project’s iconic Rainforest Biome this week as part of the Parliamentary Knowledge Foundation's Energy & Nature Scheme exploring renewable energy, nature recovery, green skills and nature-based health and wellbeing. 

Twenty-five years after welcoming its first school groups through its gates, the Eden Project is launching an ambitious new digital schools membership - Eden Project Live Learning - designed to reach an extra 30,000 pupils each year and bring its unique educational experiences to thousands more children across the UK and around the world. 

Hundreds of people gathered in Morecambe on Wednesday 24 June for a landmark community celebration marking a pivotal moment for Eden Project Morecambe, as the project moves from planning towards construction beginning this August. 

The Eden Project has announced the return of one of its best-loved family experiences. A decade on from Eden’s famous Dinosaur Uprising, the Return of the Dinosaurs launches on 25 July for the summer holidays – promising an even bigger dinosaur experience at the global gardens, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

An Omaze partnership that began with a guaranteed £1 million donation has delivered a transformational £4.5 million for the charity Eden Project’s new destination in Morecambe – securing one of the most significant elements of the new world-class visitor destination due to open in 2028. 

This summer, the Eden Project will pass on significant summer savings to visitors following new government legislation that will see VAT cut from 20 percent to 5 per cent for UK family attractions.
