Shannon Wilby, Eden’s Live Programme Lead said: “We are thrilled to welcome such a magical mix of fantastic music-makers to Eden for the 2020 World Pasty Championships. I’m sure each act will add to the fun-packed day to create an electric atmosphere.”
This will be the ninth World Pasty Championships at Eden. The event, held the Saturday before St Piran’s Day, sees amateur bakers, companies, professionals and juniors compete in Cornish pasty and non-traditional classes.
For the third year running, the championships will be the finale of Cornish Pasty Week, which starts on Sunday, February 23.
The week of festivity and fun is inspired by the Eden championships and delivered with the project’s help by the Cornish Pasty Association, which represents the £300-million-a-year pasty industry.
The aim of the week is to get as many people as possible involved in pasty-making and to raise awareness of the classic Cornish pasty recipe, which has been given protected status.
