The first episode of series seven airs on Sky Arts on Wednesday January 12 at 8.00pm and is set in Eden’s unique Biomes.
Eden’s Outdoor Gardens are then the setting for episode four of the series, airing on Sky Arts on February 2 at 8.00pm.
The popular televised competition follows a nationwide search to find the best landscape artist. Through several rounds, winners are selected until finally one winning artist receives the prize of a £10,000 commission for a major British institution.
Over the course of the show, there are a total of six heats, with eight different artists competing per heat. A further 50 wildcard artists participate per heat, creating their work from alternative viewpoints to the main competitors.
The show is presented by Stephen Mangan and Joan Bakewell and is judged by three renowned art professionals, independent curator Kathleen Soriano, art historian Kate Bryan and artist Tai Shan Schierenberg.
The episodes featuring the Eden Project were filmed over two days last summer (2021) under warm sunshine and beautiful blue skies.

Sky Arts aims to bring more art to more people across the UK. In 2020, with the creative industries under serious threat, Sky made the channel free for everyone to watch.
