Taking place from May 27 to June 4, Eden’s Festival of Imagination celebrates the joy of exploring new ideas and experiences with the whole family and will see an array of events taking place.
In the Mediterranean Biome’s Citrus Grove, families can enjoy readings and talks from fantastic young adult and children’s authors including Rebecca Cobb, Lotte Jeffs, Rachel Bright, Naomi Jones, Rosie Talbot and Emily Barr.
Elsewhere, in the Arena, visitors can enjoy live music and dance activities from Das Brass, Eden Summer Orchestra, Cscape and Rob Mennear.
In the Core building, authors Craig Barr-Green and Anna Wilson will host interactive youth writing workshops and will share helpful techniques to improve writing skills. Aspiring authors are encouraged to bring along some of their own work if they wish to share and receive advice specific to them.
Also on offer in the Core Building are a selection of theatre performances that are full of fun.
Attenborough and his Animals, an award-winning, five-star physical comedy show sees two hapless fools recreate wonderful scenes of the natural world.
Meanwhile, WOMANS is a raucous and hilarious tale of the first female resistance set in 44BC, Ancient Rome. The show features clowning and original music.
For a younger audience, Eden will play host to some puppet shows. On May 27 to 28 and June 3 to 4, families can see Tallulah Swirls puppetry bring a magical and immersive puppet show followed by a behind-the-scenes look at how the puppets work.
On May 29 to June 2, visitors can enjoy The Silly Squirrel puppet show, all performed from a picnic basket and followed by a meet and play session as an introduction to the techniques of puppetry.

“With that in mind, we’re incredibly excited to bring together a host of talented and creative people to help capture our visitors’ imaginations and hopefully allow them to see Eden and the world around them in new and exciting ways.”
There is an additional charge of 50p per person to attend a theatre performance, puppet show or writing workshop and availability is limited, so all those wishing to attend must book their space in advance.
