Eden’s Core education centre will be the setting for British poet and playwright Dame Carol Ann Duffy’s electric adaptation of the fifteenth century English morality play.
The story has been brought up to date, creating an intense, exciting, multi-media experience with live music, projection, choreography and a high-energy cast of four.
Miracle will be performing each evening at Eden from 7.30pm on Wednesday October 6 through to Sunday October 10.
The production, which runs for about one hour 20 minutes, is directed by Kyla Goodey, with music by Dom Coyote.
Everyman holds up an awkward mirror to humankind and asks whether it is only in death that we understand our lives.
The show follows Everyman who is riding high, working hard and playing harder. He has success, wealth, good looks and is living the dream, until Death comes calling.
Forced to take a chaotic pilgrimage, Everyman becomes a man on the run, frantically attempting to justify his life choices – but who will speak in his defence before his time runs out?
To bring the story to life a new portable performance structure is being built. Known as The Fleapit, it will create an intimate and safe space and provide a 360-degree canvas for Everyman, transforming it into a completely immersive experience.
For the shows at Eden, The Fleapit will be set up on the top floor of the Core.

“After such a difficult period for theatre and live events it feels wonderful to be setting the stage for an incredible new show from such a well-loved Cornwall-based company.”

“While this show is highly entertaining and a fun night out, it also gives us all a lot to think about. The themes of the show align perfectly with the ethos of Eden, so it’s the ideal setting for Everyman, which can only be seen at a handful of venues this autumn.”

Every entry to the Everyman show requires a pre-booked booth ticket at £120 for a maximum of seven people. The show contains some strong language and challenging themes, so is recommended for those over the age of 15.
As part of the experience, Eden is also offering a delicious evening meal, served prior to the show. Priced at £8.95, this can be added on to a booking when purchasing tickets to the show. A bar will also be open in the Core Café and will serve drinks from 6pm.
Eden admission is not required to attend an evening performance.
