Based on Eric Carle’s bright, timeless tale, the weekend will allow families to come together and explore the colourful classic.
Visitors will be able to follow a trail based around Eden’s Biomes to discover a new piece of the story each step of the way.
Children will be able to make their own caterpillar hats and wiggle around the garden, as well as having the chance to create a stained glass-effect butterfly.
Visitors can test their paper skills, making origami butterflies and have a go at making their own magic balancing butterfly.
Face painters will be transforming visitors into colourful characters throughout the weekend.
The Eden Storytelling team will be on hand to deliver magical sessions.

“This book is a much-loved favourite for so many of us and we are very excited to welcome The Very Hungry Caterpillar back to share this wonderful story with our visitors.”
Eric Carle designed, illustrated and wrote The Very Hungry Caterpillar, first published in 1969.
The book tells the story of a famished caterpillar who eats his way through an increasing number of foodstuffs before transforming into a beautiful butterfly.
The book also teaches the days of the week, counting, good nutrition and more. Striking pictures and cleverly die-cut pages offer interactive fun.
The classic book has been a favourite for generations, having been translated into 65 languages and selling more than 50 million copies. It is estimated that a copy is sold somewhere in the world every 30 seconds.
All activities during The Very Hungry Caterpillar family weekend are included in standard Eden admission.
