Yorkshire-born Dominic Harrison, known professionally as Yungblud, was destined to make music, picking up his first guitar aged two in his father’s instrument shop.
He began writing songs and poems from the age of 10 as an outlet for anger, frustration and dreams.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist’s second studio album, Weird!, shot to number one in the UK Album Chart in 2020, becoming certified Gold in April 2022.
His latest and third studio album, Yungblud, was released in September 2022, becoming his second number-one album on the UK Albums Chart.
Yungblud released his first self-titled EP in 2018, harnessing topics of gentrification, political corruption, assault and troubled upbringings.
His debut full-length album, 21st Century Liability, was released in July 2018, followed by the 2019 EP, The Underrated Youth, which debuted in the Top 10 UK Official Album Chart.
The track, Original Me, from the EP featuring Dan Reynolds (Imagine Dragons) earned the artist the NME award for Best Music Video.
Not only is Yungblud one of the biggest artists in the charts today, he is also an advocate of bringing people together through the power of music and is not afraid to confront hot-button issues.
Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said: “We’re excited to welcome the hugely talented Yungblud to Eden. He unites his listeners and provides a voice for a generation, aligning with our mission to bring communities together. We know this is going to be an unforgettable show.”
Yungblud has performed to sold-out crowds in more than 20 countries, from London’s Alexandra Palace to The Shrine in Los Angeles.
He has famously collaborated with the likes of Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker (Blink 182, +44, Box Car Racer) on mammoth hits, such as Kelly’s I Think I’m OKAY, which peaked at number three on the US Billboard charts.
Other iconic collaborations have included Avril Lavigne on Lavigne’s track I’m A Mess, and Willow on the song Memories, from Yungblud’s latest album.
In 2021, his cover of David Bowie’s Life on Mars was chosen by NASA as the soundtrack for the one-tonne Perseverance rover’s landing on Mars, which was live-streamed on YouTube on February 18, 2021.
The young singer’s rendition of the hit track came to the attention of NASA following his performance of it as part of a tribute event online called A Bowie Celebration: Just for One Day.
This year, Yungblud’s world tour will see him perform across more than 50 dates, including the famous annual Coachella music festival in California, which takes place over two weekends in April.
Tickets for Yungblud at the Eden Project on June 10, 2023 cost £44 plus a £5.72 booking fee.
Tickets go on sale to Inside Track Passholders from 1 pm on Thursday February 23 until 10 am on Monday February 27. Tickets go on general sale at 5 pm on Monday February 27.
