About the walks

Walking is a great way to increase your activity, and suitable for any age and all levels of fitness. It’s inexpensive, low-impact, accessible and can help manage a range of health conditions. Walking as part of a weekly group offers plenty of encouragement, reassurance and conversation. At the Eden Project, the gardens grow and change week-to-week, so there’s always something new to notice in nature.

What to expect

Walks last around an hour and explore a variety of areas around the Eden Project. Gentle walks use accessible routes and flatter paths, with opportunities to rest when needed.  Other walks journey around the gardens. The most challenging walks explore Eden’s outer estate with links to the Clay trails.

Trained volunteer Walk Leaders guide you and can help you find assistance if needed. Golf buggies can support anyone who needs a lift. The paths in Eden’s gardens are wheelchair and scooter accessible, so you can join to wheel around the route with the group and also benefit from the green setting. Why Eden?

The Eden Project has been welcoming walkers since 2005, when it was chosen as a venue for a group of people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), as it offers a challenging yet protected environment. Walks for people with diabetes, pre-diabetes and cardio-vascular conditions were added in 2016. After feedback from our walk leaders, the walks are now for anyone who would benefit from increased activity, accessing Eden’s beautiful green gardens and being part of a supportive group. They are part of our Nature Connections Programme, with links to local and national social prescribing and other partner organisations.
