Eden Project North community conversation: January 2021

On Friday 22 January 2021, Eden hosted the first in a series of monthly community conversations to give people the latest news on plans for Eden Project North.

Each of these conversations is dedicated to a specific theme and this one was about the visitor experience.

This conversation about the Morecambe project featured speakers from Eden Project International (EPIL) including chief executive David Harland, as well as Sam Smit, EPIL Head of Content and Creative, Blair Parkin, EPIL Head of Experience Development and Polly Gregson, EPIL Creative Developer.

Questions and answers from the conversation

Along with people and organisations around the world, we have had to adapt quickly to Covid-19 and have learned a lot about operating a tourist attraction under pandemic restrictions, having to quickly implement measures such as on-site social distancing, timed entry and operating a cashless site. While we would hope and expect Covid-19 to be under control by the time Eden Project North opens, our team and procedures will be resilient.

We are working with a wide range of partners in the region and aim to collaborate and perhaps even provide a setting for established festivals and events. Eden has built up huge expertise working with communities through projects such as the Big Lunch and will continue to expand our connections into the wider North West region.

Alongside developing Eden Project North, we are working on a network of Eden Projects around the world which will share their local knowledge and expertise globally.
