Clay Walk Festival
The Eden Project is built in a disused china clay pit, nestled in the midst of an extraordinary landscape, that has been shaped by the China clay industry for more than 250 years and reclaimed by nature.
Discover walks around the Clay Villages during this special festival celebrating the footpaths and spaces that provide access to this unique landscape, which borders the Eden Project.
2026's festival ran between 26 May and 3 June 2026.

- Waterproof shoes or boots with a good grip
- Dress for the weather – wear layers, bring waterproofs and a hat and sunscreen
- Drink and snacks
- Long trousers and closed-toe shoes are recommended to avoid tick-bites

There is no charge for any of the events – you can take part for free, and most walks don't require booking.
Guided or group events start at designated times, so please see walk details. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the walk start time to register.

Most walks are family-friendly and adults must accompany children at all times.
Please check the event details. Some events are suitable for dogs on short leads. However, dogs are not permitted on certain walks if they include minibus transfers, stretches of road without pavements, or if they pass through areas with livestock.

Most walks are outdoors so, in extreme weather like strong winds and heavy winds, we may need to cancel.
If you have pre-booked, the organisation delivering the activity will try to contact you via email if the event needs to be cancelled.

Some walks include a Big Lunch. The Big Lunch is an Eden Project initiative, which brings over 10 million people together for the UK’s largest annual community celebration.
